Apple discontinues the iPod after 20 years

Apple has made major decision to drop the iconic iPod device from its products ending one of the most popular consumer products after 20 years.

Steve Jobs introduced the first iPod in 2001.

Apple former CEO & co-found Steve Jobs first unveiled the iPod on 23rd October 2001. It had a 5GB storage and could fit 1000 songs in your pocket. This revolutionary idea spearheaded the company into where it is today.

Apple has announced today by senior vice president of world wide marketing Greg Joswiak, that “ Today the spirit of iPod lives on”.

“We’ve integrated an incredible music experience across all of our products, from the iPhone to the Apple Watch to HomePod mini, and across Mac, iPad and Apple TV.”

Apple commented “Customers can purchase iPod touch through apple.com, Apple store locations, and Apple Authorised Resellers while supplies lasts.”

Apple encouraged consumers in a statement “to enjoy music across a range of devices, including a wide variety of models from the new iPhone SE to the latest iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone is the best device for streaming Apple Music or storing an entire music library on the go.”
