Service questions

Q: How long will this take? I need my iPhone/iPod fixed NOW!
A: We have the fastest turnaround times of any repairer in Australia, as evidenced by the positive reviews on the Whirlpool internet forum and our Google Maps page. Some repairs take longer than others, but for replacement parts, screen replacements and software modifications, we ask that you allow 24-48 hours for the repair. Some complicated repairs such as water damage can take longer as they often require extensive testing, but we do them as quickly as possible and pride ourselves on our excellent turnaround times.

If you require your iPhone or iPod back by a certain date, please let us know and we'll do the best we can.

Q: Can I get my iPod or iPhone diagnosed for free?
A: Yes we're happy to have a look and if you don't want it repaired, all you pay is the return shipping. No "testing" or "service" fees like our competitors! What could be easier?

Q: Why should I use FiXPOD?
A: We have several competitors and there are plenty of do-it-yourself websites out there. But FiXPOD is the only specialist iPod and iPhone repairer in Australia with a six month warranty on all repairs and sales. We provide the fastest service and only use experienced technicians, who will not damage your iPod or iPhone. Don't risk it - send it in to FiXPOD to have it repaired correctly, the first time!

Q: What happens if parts are not in stock?
A: We make sure we carry a full range of parts for all of the iPods and iPhones we repair and confirm we can complete the repair before accepting your repair order.

Q: How should I send my iPod or iPhone in to be repaired?
A: After selecting your repair, we recommend sending your iPod or iPhone via Registered Post in an Australia Post video mailer, with no accessories or chargers to the address we provide in your confirmation email. Attach a copy of the order or order number and we'll do the rest!

Q: Will I get my actual iPod/iPhone back or another refurbished one?
A: We will only send your original iPod/iPhone back.

Q: What models do you repair?
A: Pretty much all of them! See our repairs page for more details. If by chance your iPod or iPhone is not listed, please contact us as we can quite probably repair it for you.

Q: Will I lose data on my iPod or iPhone?
A: Generally yes if we are repairing the hard drive and generally no if we are repairing anything else. We can't guarantee your data though, so the best option is to back it up before you send it in.

Q: Should I send in accessories with my iPod or iPhone?
A: No, just send the iPod or iPhone. We have all of the accessories to test your iPod or iPhone in our repair centre and it cuts down on shipping costs.

Q: Do you buy iPods or iPhones?
A: Certainly! Please see our sales page for more details.

Q: What is your lost package policy? A: All packages sent out are insured for the current value. If a package is lost, it will be replaced with an identical item, or a refund for the insured amount will be given.

Q: What if I don't want to proceed with the repair, or if it is unrepairable?
A: If you decide not to proceed with the repair, we are happy to send your iPod or iPhone back for $20 to cover the shipping and admin cost. There is truly no obligation!

Q: What is the abandonment policy?
A: If after 90 days we have not received payment, we will either return your iPod to you or deem it Permanently Abandoned.

Q: Will your repair void my Apple warranty?
A: Yes. If your iPod or iPhone is covered by Apple warranty, it will be void when we open it.

Q: Should I be wary of buying iPods or iPhones on eBay?
A: There is a chance you'll manage to avoid the scammers, the broken stuff, the fake iPhones, fake iPod shuffles and fake iPod nanos, but we don't recommend it.


Payment questions

Q: What are your payment methods?
A: We offer two payment methods for repairs: Paypal and Bank deposit. If you wish to pay with credit card, we will issue an invoice through Paypal, the largest and safest payment service in the world. If you wish to purchase an iPhone or iPod, currently we only accept bank deposit/transfer.

Q: Is my payment secure?
A: Paypal is the most secure payment service available. Only Paypal receive your credit card details, so you can be assured that all of your information and credit card details are safe.
